As a new comer to Boulder, I am so excited to find that there are so many well-built trails with beautiful sceneries near the town! The first trial I chose to hike is the Wonderland Lake and Hills (refer to the map below), a 4.4-mile loop trail near the town. Click here for more details about the trail.
The trailhead is not quite far from where I live. Just took a bus for several stops and I was at the entrance to the trail.
The route began by passing by Wonderland Lake, which is a great spot to watch birds and the reflection of hills in the lake.

Then the trail took me through open grassland and pine woodlands at the foot of the hill to the Old Kiln trail.

From Old Kiln, I started to climb over the hill. The view is even more beautiful on the other side of the hill. There is a drive winding forward through the valley to the hills in distance.

Finally, the route went back to the lakeside. Since I had to stop for photography and chocolate on the way, it took me more than three hours to finish the trail. Not a challenging route, wasn’t it? The trail has left a deep impression on me, so in the future I will explore more other trails in Boulder during my stay here.
Besides, I also took some photos with Kodak 5294 film, see the post about them after film development when I return to China.
